Common Physiological Problems Faced By Women
Menstruation
It is a periodic discharge of bloody fluid from the uterus occurring at more or less regular intervals from the day of puberty to menopause. It is also a symbol of women’s physiological maturity. It’s failure to occur regularly may result to congenital abnormalities, physical disorders (disease, obesity, malnutrition), thyroid and emotional or hormonal disturbances.
Painful menstruation or dysmenorrhea will result in abdominal cramps, back and leg pain, headache, breast soreness and bloatiness.
Leukorrhea
It is a white or yellowish mucus discharge from the cervical canal or the vagina. This is a normal physiological occurrence. It may be abnormal because of the increase amount, changes in colour, variation in concistency, odour, types of bacteria and presence of blood.
Menopause
Menopause usually associated with the end of feminity. As the ovaries stop working, the level of female hormones fall and stop producing eggs. Some of the symptoms are mood swings, tiredness and lethargic, hot flushes and irregular menstruation |
